Merchandise Lens · FAQ

How Merchandise Lens handles stock and sales

Merchandise Lens is in development for small online shops across Canada. Owners enter stock counts and dated sales updates themselves; store sync is unavailable. Confirmed reorder drafts can be emailed to their saved supplier address, though delivery confirmation is unavailable.

  1. What does Merchandise Lens do today?

Merchandise Lens is being built for small online shops across Canada. The current product lets an owner save product details, enter stock counts, record dated sales updates, and make separate stock adjustments. These records are entered manually.

  2. How do I enter a product’s stock count?

Enter the current quantity when you add a product. Merchandise Lens saves the count you provide; it does not pull stock from your store.

  3. Are stock adjustments and sales updates the same record?

No. A dated stock adjustment records units added to or removed from current stock and updates that count. A dated sales update records a quantity sold in sales history; it is a separate manual record and does not change current stock.

  4. How do I record sales?

Choose a saved product, enter the quantity sold, and select the date for the sales update. Each update is entered by the owner and saved as a dated history record.

  5. Does Merchandise Lens sync with my online store?

No. Store sync is unavailable. Owners enter stock counts and dated sales updates manually in Merchandise Lens.

  6. Can Merchandise Lens email my supplier?

Yes. Open a saved reorder draft, review and confirm it, then choose Send to supplier. Merchandise Lens uses the supplier email, subject, and message saved on that draft. The email service reports acceptance or suppression, but does not confirm delivery, so an accepted request is not shown as sent.
